The Port Mourant Turf Club (PMTC) will on Sunday come alive when the club in collaboration with the PPP stages a grand one-day 10-event horserace Meet.
A whopping $5M in cash and trophies are on offer and a scintillating and action packed day of racing is anticipated.
The B class, the three year-old gallop for West Indies and Guyana bred horses, the F class races and the two year-old contest are the talking point on the day’s programme. Another eye catching event will be for the D and lower horses.
The feature event has a first prize of $600,000 and will see the horses galloping over a distance of 1500M.
The other main event for 3 year-old horses bred and born in the West Indies has $400,000 on offer for the winner and will see them also battling over the same distance.
In the F and lower event there is also $400,000 available for the winner in another 1500M contest. The two-year open sprint over a 1000M distance also attracts a first prize of $400,000 while a similar prize is at stake in the D and lower horse’s showdown also over 1000M.
Many more attractive prizes are at stake for the top horses in the other races which will attract the cream of the crop in the country, many of which have already been entered.
However persons with last minute queries are asked to get in contact with Regional Vice-Chairman Dennis DeRoop (640 6396), Chris Jagdeo (624 6123 or 322 0369), Fazal Habibulla (657 7010) or Justice Cecil Kennard (226 1399, 225 4818).
