Construction of a new training facility for nurses in New Amsterdam, Region Six, is expected to commence shortly replacing the existing one, says Health Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy.
He made those remarks at the graduation ceremony of 125 students trained in First Aid and Nursing Care at the St. John Association of Guyana.
He noted that the Ministry has seen the need to expand healthcare training in other regions and Government is anticipating the construction of a facility to train nursing assistance in Regions Two and Nine.
Dr. Ramsammy emphasized that the number of persons applying and qualifying to become nurses is increasing and the Ministry has to meet that demand.
