– committee members to meet on Sunday
Female cricketers interested in playing cricket for the East Bank are asked to attend a meeting on the Farm Ground tomorrow at 4:30pm. The East Bank Cricket Association (EBCA) is asking all interested female cricketers to take special note of this development.
The players are asked to make contact with the Coach, Mr. Debidyal on 648 9498, and Manager, Mr. Williams 612 9904. In addition, the EBCA is inviting all its committee members to a special meeting on July 3 at the Farm Ground. It is important that members attend.
Floodlight to play in New York next weekend
The Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) will be sending a team to New York to take part in the Independence/Legend Cup softball tournament next weekend.
The games will be played at Queens and Brooklyn on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of July, which is hosted by the New York Softball Cricket League (NYSCL). Teams from many parts of North America, along with Floodlight, will vie for supremacy.
The GFSCA sent two teams to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in early March this year and Floodlight A was the runner up in the Florida Cup Master tournament. Players selected to play in New York are: Ishwar Persaud, Dharam Persaud, Richard Persaud, Hardat Singh, Armogan Gopaul, Ganesh Singh, Derick Ramoutar, Petamber Maharaj, Ricky Deonarain, Rahaman Khan, Mikes Singh, Ray Amnay, Unos Baksh.
