Guyana’s Powerlifters continues rewrite the record books not only locally, but further afield. The first female to break into the Commonwealth record books, Dawn Barker has now been joined by the first male to achieve such a feat, back to back defending Caribbean Champion, Randolph Morgan.
In the recently released updates from the Commonwealth Powerlifting Federation records keeper, Morgan became the second Guyanese lifter to make the Commonwealth record list with records in the Bench Press of 215kgs and total of 807.5kgs which was also achieved at the Caribbean Championships earlier this year.
The Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) has extended congratulations to both National and Caribbean Champions on their outstanding achievements.
According to the GAPF, a special presentation of the Certificates from the Commonwealth Federation acknowledging their feats will be made at the upcoming Intermediate/Claude Charles Memorial Championships set for St. Stanislaus College Auditorium on June 26.
