Four multimillion-dollar awards in the education sector attracted no objections by Cabinet at its most recent meeting on Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr Roger Luncheon stated yesterday.
Dr Luncheon stated that an award of $199.2M was granted for the supply and delivery of tools, and installation of equipment for the technical institutes under construction in Regions Three and Five.
He said $123.7M was also awarded for the supply and delivery of tools and installation of tools and equipment for the Government Technical Institute, the Guyana Industrial Training Centre and the New Amsterdam Technical Institute, while 27.8M was awarded for the procurement of agriculture equipment for the education sector.
Dr Luncheon added that $43.3M was also awarded for the supply, delivery and installation of office furniture at technical institutes in Regions Three and Five, the GTI and the teachers’ training laboratory.
