Participants and spectators will have to wait a bit longer to be a part of the action on the much anticipated Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inter Agency Softball 10/10 Cricket competition, Fun day and exhibition games. This is because the activity, which was previously rescheduled to June 11, has been further rescheduled to Sunday July 3 at the Albion Community Centre ground.
The state of the ground and the continued inclement weather has forced the organisers to reschedule the activity.
According to the organisers the decision was taken to further push back the activity after a visit was made to the venue and it was decided that the outfield was too soggy and in no condition to be used for the day’s activities. Chief Organiser Republic Bank Manager Imran Saccor stated that the organisers decided to fix a date in July when the weather will be more favourable. It was decided that July 3 is a suitable date because it is the day before Caricom Day which is a holiday. So persons can participate fully in the day’s activity, which is expected to culminate during the evening with the holding of a stage show.
According to Sacoor the initiative is to foster better working relationship amongst companies and other business entities in the county. They are also using the occasion to get workers out of their offices and their daily stress of work for a day of relaxation and fun.
Entrance fee is only $100 and Persons entering the ground will also have an opportunity to win big gate prizes including a Digicel Blackberry phone, one bicycle and A DVD Player amongst other prizes.
A number of organisations have already selected their teams for the one day extravaganza which will be played under floodlights and those include Demerara Bank, New Building Society Limited (NBS), Republic Bank, Ainlim and Geddes Grant Combined, Oldendorff Carriers, Berbice Media Eleven, Memorex Enterprise, Guysuco, Metro Office and Computer Supplies, Demerara Distillers Limited, Regional six Regional Administration, Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT & T) and Banks DIH Limited.

Also on the cards is a feature 10/10 Softball exhibition game between top softball teams Celebrity Times and Wolf Warriors.
