The victim, Jermaine Anderson, a 36-year-old businessman, who operates in the interior, had hired the taxi, driven by one Andrew Caesar, on Sunday to take him to his lot 3541 Stevedore Housing Scheme, home.
Anderson sat in the front passenger seat and placed his haversack containing $700,000 in the back passenger seat with his clothing.
On his arrival to his home, he exited the car and was about to take out the bag to pay the suspect his $4,000 fare when Caesar drove off.
A search was immediately carried out and the motor car was found abandoned in North East La Penitence.
