Some of the biggest names in regional drag racing will be on show when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) hosts its ‘Clash of the Supermotos’ International Meeting on June 26, at the South Dakota Circuit.
According to President of the club Rajendra Boodhoo, top drivers from Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname will be descending on these shores to take on the local speedsters in what is deemed the initiation of the Caribbean Series in Drag Racing.
Boodhoo, who has been at the helm of the entity since 2010 told this newspaper that local motor racing fans could expect some riveting battles as the foreign invaders attempt to upstage the local opposition on the newly resurfaced track that has already produced a number of improved times this year.
The GMR&SC Head revealed that fierce rivalry is anticipated since a number of drivers will be competing in newly acquired cars which should ultimately improve their performance and the level of competition.
Among those expected to represent the ‘Land of Many Waters are Ernesto Choo, Aaron Bethune, Afraz Ally, Syed Ali, Danny Persaud, Rondell Dabi and Sanjay Persaud.
Meanwhile, T&T has so far confirmed three drivers and Suriname as usual will be sending a large contingent.
