The stage is set for the Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Industry second grand annual one day inter Agency 10/10 softball cricket competition and Fun Day and exhibition games at the Albion Community Centre ground beginning at 10:00 hrs today.
Last year the event saw some 15 teams taking part in the inaugural competition which was won by Guysuco with victory over a Berbice Media XI.
Teams’ participating in this year’s tournament includes Demerara Bank, NBS, Republic Bank, Ainlim and Geddes Grant Combined, Oldendorff Carriers, Media Eleven, Memorex Enterprise, Guysuco, Metro Office Supplies, Demerara Distillers Limited, GT & T and Banks DIH. The top teams and outstanding individual players will all be presented with Trophies, Cash and other incentives compliments of the organisers.
Patrons in Berbice will also have an opportunity to see many of Guyana’s top cricketers in action as Albion Community Centre take on Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadget in a 10/10 encounter. Players such as Davindra Bishoo, Narsingh Deonarine Veerasammy Permaul, Jonathan Foo and the Chattergoon Brothers will appear for Albion, while Rose Hall will have the likes of Assad Fudadin, the Crandon Brothers, Delbert Hicks and Renwick Batson to call upon.
Also a feature 10/10 Soft Ball exhibition game will be played between top soft ball teams Celebrity Times and Wolf Warriors.
