Dear Editor,
After reading the statements made by Mr. Ralph Ramkarran on May 8th, 2011 in Kaieteur News, I am outraged that he would name Basil Joseph, a Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) employee, as having “prepared Yusuf Mongroo’s tax returns for more than two decades”. Once again his statements have no truth in them.
Basil Joseph has stated to us that this is untrue and has further stated that he is prohibited by GRA from preparing private individuals tax returns as an employee of GRA.
Why does Mr. Ramkarram consistently get the facts wrong? Perhaps it is because the true facts condemn his client’s acts in this matter?
Whose fortune is safe in Guyana if the powerful, hired by the greedy are permitted to plunder the fortunes of successful men and women?
If the boldest greediest people can mock the age old respect for the hereditary rights of children to receive all you have worked for, then whose child is safe? Will your child face this next?
This must he stopped, not for Yusuf or Sherene Mongroo but for every Guyanese man or woman who wants their child treated fairly when they pass on. That is only my opinion of the matter.
Sherene Parisi
