Forty one year-old Mark Gibbons who on May 20, last allegedly acquired a quantity of clothing owned by Andrew Mc Intyre, appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, yesterday, at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to face the charge of simple larceny, and pleaded guilty.
The clothing had been hung out on a clothes line in McIntyre’s yard.
Police Prosecutor Venetta Pindar stated that the complainant was at home sleeping when he received a phone call from his neighbour informing him that a stranger was just in his yard taking clothes off of the line.
The defendant was later caught and he admitted to the crime. He was sentenced to one month in jail.
