Twenty-year-old Sherwin Williams who allegedly acquired articles valuing $11,000, an identification card and an ATM card, the property of Quacy Crawford, appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, on Friday, last, at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to face the charge of robbery.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
Police Prosecutor Jairam Luckhai stated that about 04:00 hours the complainant was walking south along High Street, Kingston, when the defendant armed himself with a broken bottle and robbed the victim. Williams was then arrested and subsequently charged.
He was denied bail and ordered to return to court on Monday.
