Scottsburg United of Corriverton against the run of play on Sunday last got the better of home team Blairmont on first innings to advance to the final of the Ricks & Sari Agro Industries Under-13 sponsored and organised by the Berbice Cricket Board.
Leading by example was Scottsburg Captain Deon Esuan who shone with both bat and ball.
Batting after winning the toss Scottsburg were bowled out for 101 in 34.4 overs; Robin Roopchand 25, Esuan 22, Yusuf Nicholson 19 and Aslim Baksh 12 being the principal scorers.
Bowling for Blairmont Akeem Miller took 5 for 35 runs and Parmanand Ramdhan 4 for 36 off 15 overs. In reply Blairmont fared even worse and were sent packing for a meager 66 in 24 overs; only Avishkar Rabindranauth 23 and Shoaib Isahack 12 reached double figures as Esuan snared 4 for 12, Shamnarine Seenauth 2 for 4 and Mohamed Deochand 2 for 16 all combining to bowl out home team.
Batting a second time with a first innings lead of 35, Scottsburg reached 66 for 6 off 26 overs when the match was called off.
Mohamed Deochand top scored with 16 while Ramdhan 3 for 26 and Miller 3 for 32 again bowled well for Blairmont. Scottsburg United would now clash with Tucber Park in the Final on Sunday at the Albion Community Centre.
