Region One residents and miners are expected to benefit from the construction of a $58M airstrip at Bemichi by June month-end. The contract for the construction of the 2,400-foot airstrip was awarded to Karez Engineering.
Neim Mohammed, Hinterland Engineer of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, stated that the erection of the airstrip involves overlaying the area and cement stabilized surface.
It was noted that works commenced in the latter part of March and are 60 percent completed.
Jagdeo giving Exxon 102 cent to collect 2 cent.
