As celebrations for the 40th Anniversary of the Pele Football Club continues, a donation of three sets of uniforms and 20 pairs of football boots was made to the club last evening at the Georgetown Football Club Ground during half time of an Under-17 game between Pele and GFC.
Former President John Yates who contributed the boots said that they are more than happy to equip the club to perform to their fullest potential in every department.
The uniforms, three full sets was presented compliments of the Pele Alumni Corporation made up of former players including the likes of Patrick ‘Labba’ Barton, Keith ‘Bumpy’ Layne, Dennis ‘Carry’ Carrington, Colin ‘Doc’ Watson, Eric Smith, Courtney ‘Fefe’ Fanfair, Wendell Manifold, Linden ‘Colt’ Carter and Billy Braithwaite.
Current Pele FC President Cecil Jacques thanked the Pele Alumni Corporation and John Yates for the donation which he said is a timely boost for the club which is focused on the development of strong junior teams that will ultimately feed into their senior team.
Meanwhile, the final of the Under-17 knock-out tournament is scheduled for today at GFC between Pele and Fruta Conquerors with Sunburst Camptown opposing GFC in the third place encounter. Kick off time is 16:00hrs.
