– Suhai Feng is top Junior
Wendell Meusa played unbeaten to win the first Caribbean Container Incorporated Chess Tournament based on the Progress tiebreaker system. Meusa secure five wins with two draws coming against National Champion Taffin Khan and Peirre Boucher.
Boucher also secured five wins and two draws against Meusa and Shiv Nandalall to end on six points to finish second. Reigning National Champion Taffin Khan finished with five wins, one draw and one loss against Peirre Boucher in round four to finish in third position on five and a half points.
The final points standing; Wendell Meusa and Peirre Boucher six points, Taffin Khan five and a half, Shiv Nandalall, Alex Joseph and David Khan three points apiece and Haatram Parbat one and a half.
Suhai Feng returned to form to capture the junior category. Feng finish on six and a half points out of seven games. He was closely followed by Anthony Drayton on six points, while Rashad Hussain finished on five points and Saeed Ali on four points to round out the top four finishers. Roberto Neto was the most improved player in the junior category.
Human resource manager of CCI Mr. Jimmy Lorrimer was on hand to present the prizes to the winners.
