DEAR EDITOR,
Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo, is now the legitimate ‘campaigner in chief’ for the PPP/C presidential candidate, Donald Ramotar. And since assuming his role the President has done nothing but continue to alert Guyanese of all the reasons this PPP/C administration should not govern Guyana for one more day after the 2011 General elections.
Mr. Jagdeo continues to make himself the ‘head clown’ of his party by jumping around the country to cuss down Guyanese.
He cussed out the young deeming that they are incapable of making sound decisions, then he cussed out PNCR presidential candidate, Mr. David Granger, then he cussed out our elders inferring that they are an unfit class, then it was Glen Lall, proprietor of Kaieteur News, accusing him of getting rich off of ‘back track’ enterprise.
These are some of the latest in the President series of cuss out affairs.
However, it appears that Mr. Jagdeo has every intention to utilize these last few days in office to ensure that he uses whatever energy he has left to come full circle and make sure that every Guyanese gets a ‘mouth licking’ from him.
So a few days ago he lashed out at the military and render them a bunch of ‘dunder heads’ or ‘ignoramuses’ who are only good at walking the streets with booth, and guns. According to the president they have no skills.
Now, here is a man who is the commander of the armed forces in Guyana making these disparaging, nasty and wicked comments about the military institution which is responsible for the protection of this nation.
Is Mr. Jagdeo telling Guyanese that the people who are tasked with this most important duty are a bunch of fools who cannot think?
It would be interesting to know how the veterans and those currently serving in the joint services think about this concoction of the President.
I have always been concerned over the fact that the PPP/C party perceives, us, Guyanese in a very negative light, and for that reason we get the kind of degrading comments emanating from them towards us. Their blatant undemocratic actions and overt demonstration of contempt of our intelligence are just about two of the many ways they expose their thinking. Could you imagine any other head of state referring to his armed forces in this way?
I guess not since of course there is no other place like Guyana. Many ask how can Donald Ramotar sit and allow Jagdeo to continue to disrespect Guyanese in this manner, is Donald his own man?
Ramotar cannot continue to hide under Jagdeo’s ‘dutty frock’. Does Ramotar have any good reason as to why he should be president of Guyana?
Are we to believe that the only reason, as espoused by Jagdeo, Guyanese should vote for Ramotar is because he has been loyal to the PPP and to its communist ideology, and because he is ‘intellectually curious’.
Having President of Guyana on one’s resume, cannot be the only motivating factor for anyone to become president.
And this comment is directed to all the other Ramotars, who may be from a different party.
Jagdeo spent much time at Essequibo trying to convince people that Ramotar is not racist. Question is why did the President had to take much time to do this, does he know something that some of us don’t know?
Only in Guyana comments like these are allowed to slide pass us, remember Ramotar wants to be Commander in Chief, to replace Jagdeo as the head of ‘booths and guns’ (Jagdeo’s description of the military).
