Police say two men are being questioned in connection with a stolen boat and a quantity of seine found in their possession on the remote island of Hamburg, Essequibo River. A third man, Bhola Persaud, is also being sought.
According to information, the two men now in custody were found on the island with the stolen items.
When confronted, both men were unable to explain to police how they came by the items.
They reportedly told ranks that they were instructed by Persaud to sell the boat and the seine in an effort to generate an income.
The stolen boat and seine, police said, belong to one Teelack, a\k Son, who positively identified the items.
Fishermen losing their boats and other valuable items at sea are most prevalent at Lima Village on the Essequibo.
