Dear Editor,
Elections, national and regional, are constitutionally due by the end of this year and the race has been heating up ever since, the AFC party has named its candidate earliest then came the PNCR and finally the PPP/C.
I am not in any way daunted by the former two parties mentioned because they pose no threat to the PPP/C’s march to victory because the PPP/C is a heavy roller that would flatten all that is before them come election day.
Everyone would agree with me that it is indeed a painful thought in not having the incumbent stand as presidential candidate for another term.
Having to demit office at this peak period of his presidency is somewhat nerve wracking for all in Guyana, but as the saying goes life must go on and once again, thanks President Jagdeo for the great service you gave to our country.
We will always remember the work you have done for our people in taking this nation out from the intensive care unit and having it claw its way back on to a road filled with hope and prosperity. Yourself and Dr Ashni Singh has done a fantastic job having to juggle around with the limited finances available to us, brought this nation to some degree of dignity and respectability on the world stage.
I must say for the record that Dr Ashni Singh was my presidential choice but it seems that this distinguished financier/technocrat is quite content to be in the position he has been placed, so my wishes go with this eminent gentleman.
But before I engage my readers in a lengthy thank you speech let me turn your attention to the PPP/C nominee Donald Ramotar, he is the man of the hour a heavyweight boxer and I am his promoter, kudos to him! Not that it bears any importance to anything but the last I have read of this man is that he carries within his body the DNA of all the races of Guyana which is certainly a first for the nation. Another noticeable attribute is his birth place which is the county of Essequibo. So here we have it the total embodiment of everything Guyanese – Donald Ramotar our President!
