Residents of the Port Kaituma in the North West District were yesterday plunged into mourning following the news that one of their fellow villagers met his sudden demise reportedly by drowning.
Reports are that 15-year-old Julian Joseph was found dead near the Barima River Landing. The discovery was made by one of his siblings, Devon Joseph.
This newspaper was told that the lad was left alone at home while his other relatives were out. Around noon yesterday, a brother returned home and went to the river to wash up when he found the 15-year old lying on the bank and appeared to dead.
He immediately raised an alarm which attracted scores of residents.
They all gathered at the scene to get a glimpse of the lad who was well known in the community. The police were also called in and the dead teen’s remains were carefully checked for any marks of violence before it was taken away.
However investigators are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination to determine their next move.
