Yesterday Guyana Reading and Research Centre (GRRC) launched its biggest and longest book sale at its new location on Woolford Avenue. According to the director, Rupert Hopkinson the new location is now considered the permanent home and is called “Bookland”.
Hopkinson added that more than 200,000 various kinds of books are on sale at “Bookland”. There are textbooks, novels, story books self-development books, religious material, and books on diet, just to name a few.
Reports are that the Guyana Reading and Research Centre has been in existence for the past 14 years.
Hopkinson said that due to the years of serving this country with books he is able to gain knowledge of the interest area of the Guyanese population and to bring books that suit them. He added that his business has grown tremendously and in an attempt to give back to the community he is planning a three-day Easter fiesta where there will be many giveaways and prizes.
The Easter Celebration at “Bookland” will take place at the Critchlow Labour College Campus, Woolford Avenue over the Easter weekend.
