Harmony and Linden Foundation are the leaders in the respective categories in this year’s Edward ‘Screw’ Richmond Memorial Secondary Schools Football Competition which continued in Linden recently.
In Group A, Harmony have so far played four matches winning three and losing one to head the table on nine points, while in Group B, Linden Foundation have the maximum nine points from the three matches they’ve played to date.
According to a report from the Local Organising Committee, the competition has reached the midway stage and so far twelve matches have been played with a total of 35 goals scored. The highest goal scorers are Marley Davidson and Jermaine Batson, both of Christianburg / Wismar Secondary with 3 goals apiece.
In the latest round of matches played: Mackenzie High School defeated Marcia Craig’s Educational Institute 1-0 with Akeem Singh’s 63rd minute strike separating the team, while Harmony Secondary benefitted from a similar result against New Silvercity Secondary. Joshua Freeman’s 59th minute goal proved to be the decider.
