The Rising Sun Turf club, Arima Park West Coast Berbice will be abuzz of activities come Sunday April 17, that the date set by the organisers for that entities Pre Easter one day Horserace meet. The organizers have put together the same programme that was listed for their previously postponed Pre Mashramani event.
Nine races are listed on the day’s programme which the organisers have put together, so that all available horses could have an opportunity to show off their mettle.
Incentives totaling over $3.5M in cash, trophies and other goodies are up for grabs during the days programme.
The feature event is for B class horses over 1300m, which incidentally is the distance for all of the races. The feature B class event has a total prize money of close to $1M with the winner set to race away with $450,000 and trophy.
There are two three year old events the first for animals Bred and Born in Guyana and the West Indies which has a winning prize tag of $250,000. The other three year old race is for Guyana Bred and born horses and that winning prize is set at $200,000 and trophy.
The E Class event has a winner’s prize of $180,000 and trophy, the G and lower showdown will see the top animal receiving $150,000.
There is an H class race for animals in that category and lower, with the winner’s money being $140,000.
There are also two I class events, the first is for animals classified ‘I’ and lower will see the winner carting off $130,000. The other I class event is for those classified I3 and lower and those animals with one win. The winner of that race will run away with $120,000. The other event on the days programme is for horses classified K and lower and will see the winner receiving $90,000.
The nation’s largest Horseracing sponsors, Beverage giants Banks DIH Limited along with Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice and Hablaw Meat Centre are already on board.
Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall in Bourda Market as usual is on board with sponsorship for the individual prizes which includes the champion jockey, champion trainer and champion stable trophies among others.
