Local judo practitioners returned from the Senior Caribbean championships staged in the Dominican Republic with two bronze and one silver medal and President of the local Judo Association has praised the efforts of the lads amidst many pre-tournament challenges.
Raoul Archer won a silver medal in the U-90kgs category while Edward DeLima won a bronze medal in the U-100kgs category. Raul Lall also won a bronze medal but in the U-66kgs category.
According to Mr. Mel Sankies, the players turned in credible performances and might be in line for a spot in the impending Pan American championships slated for October in Guadalajara Mexico.
However, Mr. Sankies explained that he would not be able to verify this until another two weeks after the conclusion of a tallying process that allots points to the respective practitioner. The players have since recommenced training sessions in anticipation of selection.
