BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) — Brazil says it will deploy an elite police force along its borders with nine countries to curb the smuggling of drugs and weapons, according to media reports from that country yesterday.
The National Security Force includes top police officers from around the country.

The force will patrol Brazil’s borders with Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam and French Guiana.
It is unclear how many officers will be used or when they will begin the mission.
