Fitzroy Williams, a labourer of Glasgow, East Bank Berbice created quite an uproar in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on Friday when he was about to be taken before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo.
The man tore his clothes, ranted and raved and even daubed feces on his person in an attempt to avoid appearing before the Magistrate.
Williams was charged with two counts of assaulting Peace officers and one count of disorderly behaviour committed on Wednesday 9th March at Glasgow, East bank Berbice on Cadet Officer Singh and Corporal Brandt.
It is understood that the police were on mobile patrol when they were summoned to the Glasgow area after it was reported that a man was digging up iron from a private property in the area without permission.
Upon their arrival the police were shown the suspect whom they cautioned and called on to desist from the activity.
Nevertheless, the man continued.
He reportedly started to behave in a disorderly manner and also used indecent language. As the police were about to arrest Williams, he pushed one away and cuffed the other.
However, he was over powered and taken to the Central Police Station, where he was charged with one count of disorderly behavior and one count each of assaulting the two police officers.
He will return to court tomorrow when his matter is expected to be heard.
