Dear Editor,
Please permit me to ask Mr. Prem Misir a few questions regarding the illustrious state propaganda machinery that he is so enamoured with.
Mr. Misir can you please tell readers what is the expenditure to fund the state propaganda apparatus per year? Is it $300, $400, $500 million per year? If this is the case do we need to spend money on the Guyana Chronicle, NCN and the huge one radio station that exists, or would it serve the wider Guyanese society better if we were to spend these funds to implement mechanized pumps to drain the coast rather than implementing technology from the last century like sluices which the PPP loves to tell us that they have built?
Do you think Mr. Misir that the parents of Ricky Jainarine, Sheema Mangar, Alicea Foster and others would rather see that money go towards paying police officers better and protecting their children, rather than on propaganda so that you and the rest of the PPP can self aggrandize yourselves? Is this sir not the height of disgraceful, irresponsible and arrogant behaviour?
Freddie Kissoon who I am known to disagree with on many points is correct in stating that you and Mr. Jagdeo have failed in your efforts to bring down Kaieteur News and dare I add you have not just failed but you have failed miserably.
If as you claim Guyana is a free country and a democracy why do we only have one radio station and why are TV stations not allowed to expand to cover the entire country?
What is your definition of free? Do you mean this is a free country because the PPP is free to do whatever it wants to the population with no recourse?
Who is this country free for I ask? Is it free just for the PPP and the ruling cabal or is it free for our citizens? If Guyana is free why is the PPP spending so much money on propaganda to control our minds?
Mr. Misir you are being less than truthful with us, the PPP’s best ally is the PNC and you know it. This is why the PPP and PNC collude to exclude the AFC from various entities like the GECOM board and various other committees and agencies. Everything the PPP does include the PNC.
As a matter of fact there are more PNC strongmen on the PPP’s payroll today than ever before. I love to hear when the PPP extols the PNC and demonizes them. If the PNC had so many demons how come Kwame McCoy, David De Groot, Odinga Lumumba and several other chief lieutenants to Mr. Jagdeo are now in the PPP? Were they not part of the rigging? Weren’t many of these folks responsible for the attacks on Janet Jagan?
Mr. Misir surely you will have better explanations for us right? As you said Guyana is free now, so feel free to tell us how come so many PNC members are on the PPP’s payroll.
