A prospective police in training hung himself at his grandmother, Leonna Clay’s Dartmouth resident, on Tuesday.
The death of the 22-year-old will remain a mystery, since no family member has a clue as to what may have prompted the man to end his life.
The mother of the dead man, Evelyn Clay, who was comforted by neighbours after her son’s sudden death, said she last saw her son, who is the third of five children, about 9:00am, Tuesday.
The visibly shaken woman said that both her son, Rolex, and his father, Robert Clay, were repairing her front gate when all of a sudden she observed her son throwing the hammer into the grass and venturing to his grandmother’s residence.
“Rolex usually visit his grandmother each day, so when he left abruptly and went over to his grandmother, it was not surprising.”
According to Mrs. Clay, Leonna observed her son hanging under her bottom flat, some time after noon, Tuesday, when the elderly Clay ventured to feed her chicks downstairs. The man, who she said hanged himself using his T-shirt, was also a drug addict.
