Police now know the identity of one of the two gunmen who snatched $2.5M from costume designer Trevor Rose after invading the Bank DIH Mash camp at Burnham Court.
Kaieteur News understands that an eyewitness identified the gunman after looking at a number of police mug shots.
However, police have been unable to locate the suspect, who has been arrested on previous occasions for armed robbery and murder.
The attack on Rose had occurred shortly after Banks DIH had launched its camp for the Mashramani celebrations.
This newspaper understands that the suspect was charged about three years ago in connection with an execution-style killing but was subsequently freed.
Rose had told Kaieteur News that he was about to enter one of the tents when two men approached him and grabbed a haversack containing US and local currency that he was carrying.
Rose said that he did not realise that the men were armed, so he held onto the haversack. One of the bandits then pressed a handgun to his stomach.
The designer said he shifted away just as the robber opened fire. After snatching the bag the gunmen discharged about six more shots before fleeing in a red car.
Rose had concluded the manner in which the robbery occurred suggested that the bandits had prior information about his business. The attack occurred one day before he was scheduled to travel to Trinidad to purchase costume material.
