Police have issued a wanted bulletin for murder accused, Eddie Williams who escaped under mysterious circumstances from the Georgetown prisons on last week Monday.
William whose last known address is 51 Fourth Street, Alberttown escaped between 04:00 and 06:30 hours that day was on remand for the murder of Jermaine Jones.
Prison authorities are suggesting that Williams escaped by climbing the eastern fence surrounding the main penal institution during a downpour.
However Kaieteur News understands that the man who was arrested last month, calmly walked out through the main gate of the prison.
Williams, was reportedly a worker in the prison kitchen.
A source said that it was only when prison authorities carried out a tally of inmates that they were aware of Williams’s absence.
Police had only recently captured Williams, who is accused of stabbing 29-year-old Jermaine Jones to death at Ruimzeight on November 30, 2010. He was remanded after appearing before Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin at Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court. Williams is the cousin of the victim’s reputed wife.
Police described him as being of mixed race, who is18-years-old; five feet, seven inches tall; weighing 130lbs and is dark in complexion.
