Former First Lady Joyce Hoyte will be interred today following a funeral service at St Andrews Kirk in Georgetown.
There will be a private viewing for the family at the Lyken Funeral Parlour after which the body will be taken to the church.
There will be the public viewing from 14:00 hrs and the service is expected to start at 15:00 hrs. Among those slated to speak will be Presidential contender for the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) Dr Faith Harding who will be representing the Party.
A representative of the Government is also to speak. The party has requested that the speaker be either Presidential Advisor Gail Teixeira or PPP/C Chief Whip Indra Chandarpal.
The eulogy will be done by PNCR Presidential Nominee and Former Finance Minister, Carl Greenidge. There will also be a number of tributes.
After a brief period of illness, the former First Lady died on Valentine’s Day, last, at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital. The 77-year-old was the wife of former President and Leader of the People’s National Congress, Hugh Desmond Hoyte, who passed away in December 2002.
