It was with deep sadness that President of the Cooperative Republic, Bharrat Jagdeo, learnt of the former First Lady’s demise, a statement detailed. “On behalf of the Government of Guyana and on my own personal behalf, I extend heartfelt sympathy to the relatives and friends of this wonderful, gracious, considerate woman whose inner strength and fortitude in overcoming personal tragedies inspired us all,” the statement added.
The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) in its message of condolence, yesterday afternoon, revealed that Mrs Hoyte was ailing for the past three weeks and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of St Joseph Mercy Hospital.
In conveying sincere condolences, the Party revealed that arrangements for the funeral of Mrs Hoyte will be made public as soon as they become available.
Reports are that the finalising of the arrangements will be completed upon the arrival of Mrs Hoyte’s nieces who reside in the United States of America.
