Back to back wins for Enmore; Queenstown, MYO & LBI ‘A’ also shine
Rivalry in the Trophy Stall sponsored Muslim Youth Organisation Inter-Jamaat round-robin tapeball cricket competition is set to continue tomorrow Sunday at the MYO Ground with four matches.
Opening play at 09:00hrs brings together Grove and Farm which would be followed by the MYO/New Mosque encounter at 10:30hrs.
LBI ‘A’ and Mocha will square off from 12:00hrs with the final match of the day between Lusignan and LBI ‘B’.
In latest play on Sunday last, Enmore recoded back to back wins while also in winners row were Queenstown, MYO and LBI ‘A’.
Enmore batting first against LBI ‘A’ posted 99 for 6 in their allotted 10 overs; Ejaz Hatim led with 34, Ricardo Mahase contributed 18. Akram Ali picked up 4 for 24 and Ravin Khan 2 for 9 for LBI ‘A’. In response they {LBI} were skittled out for 38 runs, Reaz Ali with 10 was the only batter reaching double figures.
Reyaz Yacoob was the main wrecker with the ball for Enmore picking up 6 for 6 including a hat-trick. Yusuf Muntaz provided able support with 3 for 14.
And Diamond, Enmore again took to the crease first and racked up 119 for 5. Hatim was again the leading run getter with 41, Stephon Joseph backed up with 29.
Abdul Salim was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 6 for Diamond. Needing to score 120 for a victory, Diamond were sent packing for 78. The only batsmen to offer any resistance were Imtiaz Sultan (24) and Inzaman Mohamed (19).
For Enmore, Rehaz Yacoob was the pick of the bowlers yet again with figures of 4 for 17. Muntaz was able support again also with 2 for 9.
Queenstown playing against Lusignan took first strike, rattling up 127 for 3 off their 10 overs. Dane Austin was the main run getter with an unbeaten 40, Imran Alli made 34.
Brother Farzan took 2 for 13 for Lusignan as they came close to the victory target but not close enough, being limited to 119 for 2 when tehir overs expired despite a robust innings of 66 not out from Abu Bakr and a solid 40 from Javed. For the winners, Dane Austin took 2 for 22.
Wales occupied the crease first against LBI ‘A’ and made 67 for 6; Imran Khan stroking his way to 19. Javed Campbell (2 for 14) and Akram Ali (1 for 5) were the main bowlers for LBI ‘A’ who in response reached 72 for 3. Akram Ali led the victory chase with 21*, Nizam Khan and Shoaib Ali contributed 14 each. MYO defeated Belle West Canal # 2 in their encounter.
