In broad daylight, two employees of Pressy’s Enterprise, Regent Street branch, were forcefully relived of a large sum of money by armed bandits who operated on a black CG motorcycle. The robbery occurred on Monday around 13:40 hours while the two were on Robb Street near CNS channel six.
This newspaper understands that the employees were on their way to deposit the money at the Republic Bank, Camp and Regent Streets when the bandits struck.
It was not disclosed how much money was stolen. However it is said to have been “quite a large amount”.
According to a female managerial personnel of Pressy’s Enterprise, the employees were on a red and black CG motorcycle, “in a traffic jam”, when a black CG with “two men of African decent” crashed into the motorcycle that the employees were on.
The woman said that the employees left the store around 13:30 hours and about 10 minutes after they left, she received a phone call from a stranger who had called to inform her of the incident.
She said that according to reports, after the two were knocked down, the female employee kept holding onto the bag that had the money. However, after she was confronted with a gun, she let go of the bag.
The manager said that the female sustained injuries to her lips for with she received stitches while, the male employee is still recovering from a state of shock.
The manager disclosed that, though they have not been able to track down the perpetrators, security footage from nearby business entities, may aid in expediting the process of the bandits being captured.
Police are investigating the robbery.
