Sixty-year-old Dennis Braithwaite, a/k Brown, or Barber Man, formerly of Georgetown and also of Lima Village, Essequibo Coast, died as a result of shock and hemorrhage, due to a stab wound to the heart.
The autopsy was performed by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh, at the Georgetown Public Hospital, Friday morning.
Braithwaite died at his Lima residence, after he sustained a single stab wound on Christmas Day.
According to the police, Braithwaite’s paramour, 39-year-old, Taylor Benn, was fingered in Braithwaite’s killing. Police also said that Benn, who was slapped with the capital offence of murder, has since confessed to stabbing Braithwaite.
She has since been remanded for that offence following a court appearance.
This publication was told, on Christmas Day 2010 both Benn and Braithwaite were imbibing alcohol. Moments later, one of Benn’s female friends invited her out for drink. According to Benn’s sister she said her sister was rebuked by Braithwaite for accepting the invitation.
