Police have arrested a number of persons, including a prime suspect, in connection with a robbery, committed recently, on vendor, Shennia Yusuf, at Charity.
According to police, the men were arrested at West Coast Demerara, some time yesterday.
They are currently at the Anna Regina Police Station.
On Monday, last, in the vicinity of Hog Island, Yusuf and her son, Sameer, along with her grandson, Walenshayan, were returning to their Hog Island residence in their boat, when five armed men, who were trailing them, in another boat, jumped into their boat and robbed them of $1M in cash.
At the time of the robbery, Yusuf and her family were returning from Charity market where she had vended for that day.
Police, who say Yusuf usually vends at Charity market on Mondays, say that they have since recovered $100,000.
