Herman Josie, 53, formerly of North West District and of 54 Stanleytown New Amsterdam, was struck down by a speeding car around 8: 30 hrs on November 23, last, on the Fort Canje Public work.
He was rushed to the New Amsterdam hospital and transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died on November 24.
However his post mortem was only done on Wednesday at the Georgetown Public Hospital by Dr Vivekanand Brijmohan which revealed that the man died from multiple injuries.
On the day in question motor car PJJ8249 owned by Garfield Ralph and driven by Brian Ralph, was proceeding in a southerly direction on the Eastern carriage way towards New Amsterdam.
The vehicle had just descended the Canje Bridge when suddenly the driver noticed a pedestrian made a sudden dash across the road.
The driver made an attempt to avoid hitting Josie, by swerving to his right, but failed.
He was picked up and rushed to the New Amsterdam hospital and later transferred to the Georgetown Hospital where he subsequently died.
The driver in the meantime was arrested and taken to the Central Police station where he was tested and his blood level found to contain 92 microbes of Alcohol. He was placed in custody and subsequently released pending further investigation.
