Terrence Azore, 47, of 577 Main Road, Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara, and one of the men on trial for the Rose Hall Town bank robbery, was on Wednesday nabbed with a quantity of marijuana, when the police stopped and searched a car he was in at Golden Grove West Coast Berbice.
Kaieteur News understands that around 14:45 hrs on Wednesday, the police were manning a roadblock, when they stopped motor Car HB 8362 that was heading to Georgetown. At the time four persons were inside.
Azore was found with a green haversack which, when searched, allegedly contained 755 grams of marijuana. He was arrested and search.
He appeared at the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court on Thursday before Magistrate Tajenarine Ramroop and was refused bail.
He will have to return to court on February 3.
