Yesterday morning, around 09:30 hrs this motor car ended up in the drain at Sussex Street, La Penitence. The driver of motorcar PFF 3473 was in a hurry to get to his destination and apparently lost control of his vehicle, which resulted in it skidding off of the main road at La Penitence.
When he was asked to relate what happened, he stated that he “misaveraged the road” while some on-lookers said that the rainfall was so heavy and the drains became flooded, causing water to cover a part of the road.
He explained that it could have happened to any other driver, especially a driver who didn’t know the area well.
Persons in the area assisted the driver to get his vehicle back onto the public road. One passenger in the car stated that she believes that more work should be done on the roadways in the city to combat flooding on the public roads.
