The Leguan Post Office has been renovated and is back to its full mode of operation. The building underwent extensive renovations in the wake of infestation of termites and bats.
Recently, the infestation of termites and bats as well as the need for repairs to various parts, especially the roof of the Post Office at Leguan, forced changes in the operating hours at the post office.
According to the Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC), the Postmaster has returned to dwelling at the quarters so designated after being relocated to facilitate the repairs.
Repairs are currently being done at the office located at Meten-meer-Zorg. These are scheduled to conclude in another week’s time. Additionally plans are afoot for extensive repairs to be done to the office at Mabaruma.
