– GTA nationwide Super Sixes conclude
A Media seven will clash with the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GT&T) in an exhibition match tonight at the Everest Cricket Club ground where the Guyana Tapeball Association’s (GTA) nationwide Super Sixes tournament will conclude.
The Media team will be led by former Essequibo under-19 batsman, Ravendra Madholall with a host of seasoned players at his disposal. The right-handed Madholall, who is a Sports Reporter at the Guyana Times, will have Guyana Chronicle Sports Reporter Calvin Roberts as his deputy.
Regular skipper Sean Devers of Kaieteur News will miss the game due to his commitment to the current West Indies Cricket Board regional One-Day tournament in Jamaica.
Apart from Madholall, the batting will be hinge around the Guyana Times’ Avenash Ramzan, Stabroek News’ Marlon Munroe, National Communications Network’s (NCN) John Ramsingh and Stabroek News’ Kizan Brummel.
The bowling will be spearheaded by Roberts, Brummell, NCN’s Rene Stoby, Kaieteur News’ Edison Jefford and Madholall.
GT&T will be banking on their skipper Richard Sukhdeo, Karamchand Rambarran, Colin Richards, Royston Rajpaul and Sachin Persaud to make a big impression for them in the grudge contest.
A trophy is at stake for the winners of this game that will be played just before the championship game under lights.
GT&T team reads: Richard Sukhdeo (Captain), Karamchand Rambarran, Colin Richards, Royston Rajpaul, Sachin Persaud, Stefan Singh and Ghansham Hardyal.
Media team reads: Ravendra Madholall (Captain), Calvin Roberts (V/captain), John Ramsingh, Rene Stoby, Avenash Ramzan, Edison Jefford, Marlon Munroe, Kizan Brummell and Mosie Peters.
