The President and Executive of the Berbice Cricket Board has expressed congratulations to captain Assad Fudadin, Coach Adrian Amsterdam and team on their successful defence of the El Dorado 50 overs Inter County championship.
In a press release issued, the Board said the victory was very special to them and all Berbicians since it was achieved after defeat to Demerara in the first round and also after a poor start to the final.
“The Berbice Cricket Board has committed itself to working beyond the call of duty to make sure that the County dominate at all levels in Guyana and the senior players are producing the results the we expect from them.
With cricket being played like never before in the Ancient County at all levels (club and inter zone) our players are always prepared for any situation and this championship was achieved as a result if hard work, team unity, discipline and a strong desire to remain champions. “The Board would like to specially congratulate man-of-the-final Royston Crandon who overcame personal criticism to showcase his natural all round talent and the youthful duo of Jonathan Foo and Anthony Bramble who displayed the Berbice ‘Motto’ of playing best when your back is against the wall.”
“The Berbice Cricket Board is proud of the entire team and with the current three-day Inter Zone tournament sponsored by banks DIH Ltd currently being played, we are confident that the senior team will achieve a clean sweep of Inter County titles as the team would be properly prepared. We would also like to reassure all stakeholders in Berbice cricket that the Board will continue to work hard each day to maintain the high level of the game and also to make sure that all our players remain focused and committed.
Let us all continue to work together for the development of the game that we all love.”
The Berbice Cricket Board would also like to offer congrats to the nine (9) Berbicians on their selection to the Guyana 50 overs team; Narsingh Deonarine, Richard Ramdeen, Royston Crandon, Esuan Crandon, Assad Fudadin, Devendra Bishoo, Keon Joseph, Anthony Bramble and Jonathan Foo.
“We are confident that they will continue to fly the Berbice flag with pride and would be worthy ambassadors on and off the field. Special congrats to Ramdeen, Bramble, Foo and Joseph who will all be making their debuts at this level for Guyana.”
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
