Herman Ally, 62, called ‘Shark Oil’ of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, will have to face a judge and jury at the next sitting of the Berbice High Court. This was after a prima facie case was made out against him at the end of a preliminary inquiry which was conducted by magistrate Tajenarine Ramroop at the Albion Magistrate’s Court.
Ally is alleged to have murdered fellow Rose Hall Town resident, Randall Sandy, 41, of Sabsook Street, Rose Hall Town some time between October 5 and October 6, 2006.
The case for the Prosecution as put forward by Inspector Satrohan Dayaram was that some time between the dates mentioned above. The accused is alleged to have murdered Sandy
It was related that Ally and one Marva Somrah, also of Rose Hall Town, had a misunderstanding and he cuffed her in her face.
‘Shark Oil’ then reportedly left and went into his yard where he armed himself with a knife and came out and took up a position in front of his yard.
Not long after, Sandy was passing on his bicycle and told Ally that he was taking advantage. With that Ally rushed at Sandy and stabbed him in his left side abdomen with the knife.
Sandy subsequently collapsed and was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital, where he died the following day.
