The recent spate of executions has brought about a chilling reminder of days gone by. People are not going to be on the roads too late for fear of becoming targets. But this in itself is going to lead to another problem.
One driver would suspect that he is being tailed. Fear would cause him to become reckless and the ensuing accident would lead people to accuse him of carelessness. The police are not going to accept his story especially since the car following him would have a very prominent Guyanese as its passenger.
There is going to be a lot of regret.
**
Armed robbery is reaching a crescendo. Young men with borrowed guns are going to target at least three households along the coast. Two of these would be in Berbice where police patrols are minimal.
The gunmen, being reckless, are going to use deadly force when none is necessary but guns in the hands of certain people cause a certain machismo.
The police are going to make arrests, and even catch two of them not far from the scene. And people are going to call for deadly police action, something that they criticized not so long ago.
**
The fires are back and another house is going to erupt in flames. The dry conditions are going to cause this fire because burning heaps would not be properly extinguished.
Yet there would be allegations of arson because the property would be among those at the centre of disputes.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
