Six of the 16 men for whom the police had issued wanted bulletins have been released on $100,000 station bail each.
This newspaper was told that Lloyd Roberts, Salim Juman Azeez, Clayton Hutson, Bramanand Nandalall Rambiriche, Ricardo Rodrigues and Dennis Edwards were all released late yesterday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, lawyers representing the men filed a nisi order in the High Court calling on the Commissioner of Police to show cause why the men were being held. This matter is to be heard on Monday.
Up to press time yesterday, the other men who are listed as wanted by the police for various incidents were still at large. Those at large include John De Santos, Mark De Abreu, Sean Belfield, Raymond Fraser, David Charran, Shervington Lovell, Royston Penniston, Paul Daby Jnr., Paul Daby Snr., and Peter Daby.
On Thursday last the police issued wanted bulletins for ten men. This newspaper was told that Lloyd Roberts was taken to the police by attorney at law Glenn Hanoman. Bramanand Nandalall Rambiriche and Dennis Edwards were escorted by Nigel Hughes; and Ricardo Rodrigues, by Peter Hugh. Clayton Hutson was reportedly arrested for a traffic offence. Azeez turned himself over to the Police on Friday night.
On Friday, the Criminal Investigation Department issued bulletins for another six. And businessman Barry Dataram was arrested on Friday night at his West Bank Demerara home. Reports are that several other persons were arrested over the past few days as police continue their probe in the recent execution style killings.
