In wake of the alarming increase in criminal activities, the Guyana Police Force recently teamed up with the Private Sector to host a crime prevention workshop.
The venue was the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) boardroom.
The aim of the seminar was to educate the business community on tips for crime prevention and to allow all stakeholders to share ideas on how to minimise such nefarious activities.
Komal Ramnauth, President of GCCI, lauded the participants. He said that a workshop of this nature is very crucial because of the expansion in criminal activities within the business sector.
Ramnauth said that persons should be able to identify suspicious movements and that crime prevention is necessary for the growth of a country.
PSU chairman, Ramesh Dookhoo, said that people were urged to be more vigilant when carrying out transactions that involve large sums of money.
Representing the Police Force were Assistant Commissioner, Clinton Conway, and Senior Superintendent, Winston Cosbert.
