The Executives and Members of the Georgetown Cricket Association yesterday joined the other Cricket Associations in Guyana in expressing our heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the late Cricket Administrator, Lennox Hunte.
In a media release the GCA said that ‘Huntie’ as he was familiarly called, was involved in the game of cricket in Georgetown for over five decades, as a player, selector and a Liaison officer.
The GCA says Hunte was a dedicated cricketer to his club, the D.C.C and as a selector was never afraid to defend his selections whenever it became necessary and also had a humorous side.
“Those who were associated with him will always remember the stories he told about playing cricket with the late Fred Wills and others at D.C.C. With his death Lennox Hunte has left a void in the cricketing fraternity in Georgetown that will be difficult to fill,” the GCA release said.
