Two Saturdays ago at Strathspey, East Coast Demerara, Simon was hurled from the bus, which subsequently collapsed on him, pinning him to the ground. He suffered severe spinal, leg and neck injuries.

Seven other persons were also injured. These include Orin Vaughn, the driver; James Porter, Derrick Edmondson, Pamela Primo, Wenda Mc Pherson, Deon Bristol and Mona Gittens.
The mother of the late Andrew Simon is pleading with the relevant authorities to conduct proper investigations, as it relates to the circumstances surrounding the accident which claimed the life of her son.
