Jewan Pooran, 60, of Lot 3, Sussex Street, Albouystown, was discovered dead at the old Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC) Lombard Street yesterday, where he worked as a security guard.
The man was discovered lying on the concrete floor. Relatives and friends converged and placed him inside a taxi bound for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was pronounced dead.
The man’s body bore no visible signs of violence.
According to his wife, Saismatty Jeffrey, known as ‘Baby’, her reputed husband left for work at nine hours yesterday, and she last heard from him at 17:30 hrs.
The inconsolable woman disclosed that the father of four was a diabetic who also suffered from heart complications, and as such he might have succumbed to his ailments.
