The Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport sponsored and organised Inter Block Football tournament opened for this year at Timehri on Sunday with a triple header.
Yarrowkabra rolled over Kuru Kuru 3-0 thanks to the efforts of Paul Reece with a double and Kwesi Reynolds with one. The second match produced a victory for Round de Road over Airport by a commanding 4-0 margin. Vaughn Simon fired a double, while there was one apiece for Travis Thornhill and Seon Abrams. The last match saw Hill Top Thrill brushing aside Soesdyke Falcons 3-0. Sheldon Holder with a double and Tutt one were the marksmen on target.
Other Inter Block competitions see Berbice commencing last Saturday, while Mahdia are down to get underway on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Sport Parliamentary Secretary Steve Ninvalle, whose brainchild the Inter Block programme has been, made a presentation of footballs to Sherlock Hudson, the organiser of the Timehri tournament at Ninvalle’s office yesterday. The balls will be used during the tournament.
